Biography
Rizek
was born at the beginning as skater and only later as writer.
In the first 90’s contributes to create the Apulian “scene”, above all focusing on the “graffitis” art, expressing himself practically everywhere. Thanks to the personal and unusual style of his “pieces” through the whole Italy, he will gain the estimation and regard of the underground scene of those years, becoming the landmark and reference point for all the next generations. His polyhedric talent will make him a special artist, and that’s why he will begin to establish himself as DJ and electronic music productor in the year 2000, signing several important recording projects. He doesn’t stop here, and when he feels the need for something new, comes back to the “street” , developing new styles and studying innovativetechniques. From this moment, Rizek redesigned the urban environment, enriching it and breaking the schemes of the good sense and taboos, putting on the wall his ironic, utopian and challenging world through a playful criticism of the visual routine by which our society is (inexorably?) dominated. Looking at his works we can clearly understand what the street art really is: capturing someone’s attention in the exact moment in which it appears ! Environmentalism, human rights, freedom of expression, antimilitarism, irony and contradiction are the reading keys of his works. Stencils, calligraphy and murals represent a real explosive militant pop mix whose main purpose is to make people talk about itself!

Rizek
nasce prima come skater e poi come writer, nei primi anni ‘90 contribuisce a costruire la scena pugliese della graffiti’s art dipingendo in ogni dove. Con il suo stile e le numerose opere (“pezzi”) in giro per l'Italia, si guadagnerà’ con il tempo la stima e rispetto di tutta la scena underground di quegli anni, diventando punto di riferimento per molte generazioni successive. Il suo talento poliedrico lo rende un artista dalle molteplici vite, ed ecco realizzarsi come dj e produttore di musica elettronica negli anni 2000 firmando diversi ed importanti progetti discografici. Non si ferma, e quando sente in lui la voglia di cambiare, ritorna artista di strada elaborando nuovi stili e studiando nuove tecniche. Ed è cosi' che da quel momento Rizek reinventa il paesaggio urbano, arricchendolo, infrangendo gli schemi del buon senso e i suoi tabù, imprimendo il suo immaginario ironico e provocatorio attraverso una contestazione giocosa dell'abitudine visiva di cui la nostra società è (inesorabilmente?) succube. Se si guarda ai suoi lavori si può cogliere ciò che l’arte di strada è nella sua essenza : l’abilità di catturare l’attenzione di qualcuno nel momento in cui essa appare. Ambientalismo, diritti umani, libertà di espressione, antimilitarismo, ironia, contraddizione, sono le chiavi di lettura delle sue opere. Stencil e calligrafia, murales, tele, restituiscono una miscela pop militante esplosiva destinata a far parlare di sè.
